GENERAL SUMMARY
Leads daily branch operations to ensure efficient, high-quality member service. Contributes to policy development, strategic goals, and operational improvements while ensuring compliance with all regulations. Supports member services and lending functions, assists members with products and transactions, and addresses inquiries across multiple channels.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Member Services & Branch Operations

• Oversee daily branch readiness, security, maintenance, and cash management.
• Supervise, train, and coach staff; set expectations and monitor performance.
• Ensure accurate processing and balancing of all transactions.
• Deliver and support full-service member assistance (accounts, transactions, inquiries, digital banking).
• Promote products and services; support member education and cross-selling.
• Conduct meetings, audits, reporting, and quality control reviews.
• Maintain compliance with policies, regulations, and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with departments, support audits/exams, and manage branch reporting.
• Handle escalated member issues and maintain strong member relationships.

Lending

• Originate and process loans, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Interview applicants, explain options, and recommend appropriate products.
• Approve, deny, or escalate loans within authority limits.
• Maintain loan documentation and perform servicing tasks (adjustments, payoffs, updates).
• Monitor reports and ensure adherence to lending policies and regulatory requirements.

Operations & Strategy

• Manage budgets and improve operational efficiency.
• Support branch development, projects, and vendor coordination.
• Identify process improvements and implement new products/services.
• Assist with marketing initiatives, communications, and branding efforts.

Ensure all materials and systems reflect current policies and offerings

Transit Workers Division 689 Federal Credit Union, by five (5) employees of the Capital Transit Company in Washington, DC. They combined their purchasing power and started the Credit Union with thirty-seven (37) shares at a par value of $5.00 per share totaling $185.00. The Credit Union was managed by Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), and was operated exclusively for its members. One year later, on March 31, 1941, the Credit Union’s name was changed to Transit Employees Federal Credit Union (TEFCU).
