Cash Application Supervisor

Job Summary: The Cash Application Supervisor will lead and manage a team of Cash Application Specialists. This role is responsible for overseeing all daily cash application processes, ensuring timely and accurate posting of payments, and maintaining strong internal controls. The supervisor will be a key player in standardizing workflows, resolving complex issues, and driving continuous improvement within the team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train a team of cash application specialists while conducting performance reviews and fostering a highly collaborative team environment. * Process Management: Oversee the daily application and accurate reconciliation of all cash receipts, including lockbox, checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card payments to customer accounts. * Performance Monitoring: Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure team goals are met, achieving full monthly cash application by business day 2 and completing daily cash reconciliations. * Issue Resolution: Act as the primary point of contact for complex cash application issues—such as unapplied payments, discrepancies, and customer deductions—collaborating closely with collections, sales, and AR. * Internal Controls: Maintain and enforce strong internal controls to ensure the integrity of the cash application process. Regularly review and update procedures to align with company policy and best practices. * Reporting: Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly cash application reports. Provide insights and key metrics to the Assistant Corporate Controller. * Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement automation and workflow optimization opportunities to enhance efficiency, assisting with special projects and system upgrades as needed. * External Interfacing: Partner with Credit/Collections and General Ledger teams to resolve cross-functional issues, and serve as the main contact for banking partners regarding transmission or file format issues. * Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc: * Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience. * Experience: * Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or a similar role. * Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or team lead position. * Skills:

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Proficiency with JD Edwards ERP system and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibility Level: People manager with direct reports Travel Requirements: Travel required 0-5 % of the time to other office locations. Hours: This is an exempt position. Workdays are scheduled from Monday through Friday. Typically, work hours begin and end between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm as scheduled with the position's supervisor. Work outside of regular hours may occasionally be necessary to meet business needs. Competitive Wages: $65,000.00 to $88,750.00 annual salary. Applicants, please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee’s total compensation.
