Senior Advisor, Transmission SME

Engineer III (Resource Planning) We are seeking a junior-level Engineer III (Resource Planning) for our client on a direct hire basis. The right candidate will work with senior-level engineers to meet project objectives. The role requires performing power network modeling and analyses based on knowledge and expertise in power generation and transmission principles. The engineer is expected to contribute towards the successful completion of consulting projects focused on power system planning studies involving Power System Economics, Market Analysis, Market Intelligence, Steady‑State, Short Circuit and Dynamic Stability, Generator and Renewables Interconnections. This remote or hybrid opportunity is based out of Raleigh, NC; Lombard, IL; and San Clemente, CA. Job Requirements Perform power system engineering and power system economic studies. Participate in resource planning studies, load, and generation interconnection studies. Conduct power system market analysis and information gathering work. Perform steady‑state, transient stability, and fast transient model development, analysis, results verification, and reporting. Support and excel in continuous personal improvement and team management efforts. Participate in business development activities. Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering or another related field: Bachelors with 4+ years of experience, Masters with 2+ years of experience, Doctorate with 1+ years of experience. 4+ years experience of conducting technical studies including resource planning, transmission planning, and generation interconnection with ISO, Utilities, or consulting firms. Experience and proficiency in regulatory requirements and compliance methodologies for NERC standards including TPL, MOD, and CIP. Proven track record of technical excellence including published reports or papers. Familiarity with power system models and tools such as PLEXOS, GridView, PROMOD, Aurora, PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, TARA, Aspen, PSCAD, and/or MATLAB. RTO/ISO market pricing structures and processes.
