Field Engineer - Commercial Construction

We are seeking a Field Engineer to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects from mobilisation through to completion. This role will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, consultants and clients to ensure construction activities are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule and in accordance with approved plans, specifications and contractual requirements.


Key responsibilities will include reviewing drawings, specifications and engineering documentation; coordinating technical information between the site and project team; monitoring construction progress and quality; assisting with setting out, surveying and field measurements; and identifying and resolving technical issues as they arise. You will help manage requests for information, technical submittals, design changes, inspections and as-built records, while maintaining accurate project documentation. The role will also involve supporting site logistics, reviewing subcontractor work, tracking materials and equipment, contributing to progress reporting and assisting with cost, programme and risk management. A strong commitment to health, safety, environmental and quality standards is essential, including participation in site inspections, toolbox meetings and compliance activities.


The successful candidate will have experience in a field engineering, site engineering or construction coordination role within commercial, industrial or comparable building projects. A relevant qualification in civil engineering, construction management, building services or a related discipline is desirable. You will be able to interpret technical drawings and specifications, use standard construction and project management software, and communicate effectively with people at all levels. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, practical problem-solving ability and the confidence to work in a fast-paced site environment are essential. A proactive approach, sound understanding of construction practices and the ability to manage competing priorities will be highly valued.
