Job Title Registration Coordinator 1 - Internal Resource Pool - Harding Hospital Department Harding | Administration Scope of Position The Revenue Cycle for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is responsible for providing excellent customer service while processing patient demographic and insurance information efficiently and accurately. Areas within the Revenue Cycle include pre‑registration, registration, pre‑certification, financial clearance and counseling, financial assistance, scheduling, billing, claims follow‑up, customer service and cash collection. The primary responsibility is to ensure the collection of net revenue for services rendered. Position Summary The Registration Assistant IRP serves as the primary point of contact for visitors and inquiries related to Harding Hospital patients, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment. Provide general guidance and directions within the OSU Wexner Medical Center to assist visitors in navigating the facility effectively. In addition, the Registration Assistant must also: Knowledge of OSU/Harding Hospital Visitation Policies: Demonstrates understanding and adherence to hospital‑specific guidelines on visitor access and restrictions. Proficiency with SMART Registration System: Accurately logs and tracks visitor information using the SMART Registration system, ensuring compliance with hospital procedures. Strong Customer Service Skills: Provides a welcoming and supportive environment for visitors, patients, and staff while maintaining professionalism and sensitivity to the hospital environment. HIPAA Compliance: Maintains strict confidentiality and follows all regulations regarding patient privacy and data security. EPIC System Knowledge: Familiarity with Harding Hospital Census in EPIC for managing patient and visitor‑related data effectively. Empathy and Compassion: Displays an understanding and empathetic approach to patients and families within the behavioral health population. Excellent Communication Skills: Communicates clearly and effectively with patients, families, staff, and other stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely exchange of information. This position is second shift from 4 pm–8 pm during the week and weekends from 12 pm–8 pm. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. PC Knowledge and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication. Minimum 6 months experience in customer service or a healthcare environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Windows, Excel, and intranet/internet navigation tools as well as system content. Medical terminology, coding and third‑party reimbursement experience. Ability to work in multiple systems for assigned tasks, management and reporting. Strong problem‑solving and presentation skills. High level of customer service skills. Able to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks in a busy environment. Additional Information Location: Harding Hospital (0165) Position Type: Intermittent Scheduled Hours: 0.2 Shift: Varying Shifts Shift Schedule: Second shift from 4 pm–8 pm during the week and weekends from 12 pm–8 pm.
