Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for laboring patients and their newborns in the labor & delivery and nursery units, including couplet care.
• Monitor labor progress and fetal status using intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring; respond to variances in maternal/fetal conditions.
• Support postpartum and neonatal care, including newborn assessments and transition to nursery as needed; administer medications and document care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the broader care team; ensure accurate charting and compliance with policies.
• Charge nurse duties may be assigned with compensation of $2.00 per hour; may float to assist other departments but not as the primary nurse.

Requirements

• Active Hawaii RN license required
• Labor & Delivery and Nursery couplet care experience; ability to care for both mother and newborn
• Intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring experience
• Ability to float to assist other departments as needed while maintaining primary assignment in L&D
• Schedule expectation includes 72-80 hours every two weeks (as described for this assignment)
