Cost Accounting Manager - Manufacturing Company A growing global manufacturing company in Orange County is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to join its finance team during a period of significant growth. This role partners closely with finance and operations leadership and is responsible for managing cost accounting activities while supporting project‑based financial reporting and analysis in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone with strong cost accounting experience who enjoys working cross‑functionally, improving processes, and ensuring accuracy and visibility across financial operations. Key Responsibilities Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to cost accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting in a manufacturing environment Oversee the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and detailed variance analysis Support revenue recognition processes, including Percentage of Completion (ASC 606) Analyze project financials, including cost‑to‑complete, margins, and forecasting Handle contract‑related accounting, including unbilled and deferred revenue tracking Partner with operations and project teams to monitor costs, improve performance, and support decision‑making Drive standard costing and variance analysis across labor, materials, and overhead Prepare financial reports and provide insights to leadership on cost drivers and business performance Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling efforts Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on cost accounting Solid experience within a manufacturing environment Hands‑on experience with month‑end close, financial reporting, and general ledger activities Experience supporting project‑based or long‑term contract accounting environments Knowledge of revenue recognition principles, including ASC 606 / Percentage of Completion Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilitiesExcellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and partner cross‑functionally Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: The California Fair Chance Act Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers #J-18808-Ljbffr LHH
