Senior Project Manager - Federal 

Role Description: Huitt-Zollars, Inc has a full-time opportunity for a licensed Civil Engineer to operate as a Senior Project Manager - Federal located in Fort Worth, TX office. The successful candidate will bring at least 10 years of Project Management experience with Federal clients, particularly in Design-Build/Alternative Delivery. Must have Project Management experience in Federal, Institutional, or Public Works clients.

Registration(s): Professional Licensed Architect or Engineer in the state of Texas or ability to obtain 

Education: Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Engineering or Architecture

Title: Associate Vice President 

Reports to: Vice President or Sr. Vice President, Federal Practice

Duties:

• Manage multi-discipline design teams and design-build/alternative delivery projects, providing design services and oversight to Federal and/or public sector clients.
• Work directly with clients and directing a project staff with varied levels of experience and expertise.
• Duties include initial project research, preparation of proposal/contract, preparation of project work plan and schedule, plan production and management of plan production staff, plan processing and management of plan processing efforts, construction administration and project close out effort.
• Coordinate client management and marketing efforts for future work.
• Train staff and review work for quality assurance.
• Consistently deliver proactive communication with clients. When client issues arise, address or expeditiously escalate to discipline lead.
• Develop relationships with clients and teaming partners that allows for ease in communications and problem-solving.
• In addition to project management duties, this Deputy Design-Build Program Manager will have business development duties to include assisting SF330 preparation and involvement in professional organizations.

Qualifications:

• BS or MS Degree in Engineering (or similar) or Bachelors/Masters Degree in Architecture (or similar).
• Active Professional Engineer or Architecture License.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Civil Engineering and/or Architecture project management.
• Experience with business processes in Design-Build/Alternative Delivery is a strong plus.
• Experience with Department of Defense criteria/systems to include Unified Facilities Criteria, SpecsIntact, ProjNet, Dr. Checks.
• Ability to work independently in a team environment and to manage multiple projects with limited supervision under the direction of a principal/officer of the company.
• Excellent verbal and written skills, communicating technical information clearly and concisely.
• Solid leadership and management skills, self-motivated, and possess a strong ability to meet deadlines, satisfy clients, and solve complex problems.
• Skilled in Business Development.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Excellent Presentation skills.
• Facilitation skills to include client/design/build partner charrettes.
• Initiate and lead kickoff calls or high-level design calls with client in addition to preparing monthly forecasting and client cost estimates when appropriate.
• Troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions, effectively implement and document for internal and external stakeholders.

Project Manager (PM) Role Annual Performance Goals & Expectations:

• Having a deep understanding of how your work and contributions as a co-owner add to Huitt-Zollars’ mission and core values.
• Maintaining expected Effective Labor Multiplier (ELM) on sum of all associated projects. 
• Consistently upholds business processes including timely monthly A/R’s, invoicing, timekeeping, resource forecasting, percent completes, etc. 
• Achieves personal sales goal. 
• Achieves stated target personal utilization goal for PM. 
• Understands, follows and ensures quality control measures and risk management measures are being applied and adhered to projects and daily operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
• The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
