Senior IT Engineer & Project Manager

Location: Central New Jersey (Hybrid/Remote) Compensation: $120,000 - $140,000 Type: Full-Time About the Role We're seeking a Senior IT Engineer / Project Manager to join our growing Managed Services team. This is a unique opportunity for a highly technical professional who enjoys both hands-on engineering and project leadership responsibilities. In this role, you'll lead technical projects from planning through execution while also serving as a senior engineering resource for complex client environments. You'll work closely with clients, engineers, and leadership to deliver successful outcomes, improve processes, and drive technology initiatives forward. This is not a pure project management role, nor is it solely an engineering position. We're looking for someone who can comfortably bridge both worlds. What Youll Do Lead and manage IT infrastructure, cloud, and technology projects from initiation through completion. Design, implement, and support Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. Serve as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues. Coordinate project timelines, resources, deliverables, and client communications. Work directly with clients to understand business needs and recommend technical solutions. Assist with project scoping, planning, budgeting, and documentation. Collaborate with service desk and engineering teams to ensure successful project execution. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members. Maintain project visibility and ensure stakeholders remain informed throughout the project lifecycle. Participate in onsite client visits when required. Required Qualifications Previous experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment. Strong Azure experience, including administration, deployment, and support. Experience leading or managing technical projects. Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 and modern cloud technologies. Experience working with PSA platforms. Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and client-facing skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while remaining hands-on technically. Preferred Qualifications Azure certifications (AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-305, or similar). Experience with: Kaseya solutions Autotask PSA Windows Server Networking and infrastructure technologies Previous experience serving as a project lead, technical lead, or senior engineer within an MSP environment. PMP, Agile, or other project management certifications are a plus. This role is primarily remote, allowing you to work from home while remaining connected to a collaborative team. An office is available in Central New Jersey for those who prefer a hybrid office environment. Occasional client onsite visits will be required, primarily throughout Central New Jersey and Manhattan.
