Bouzy is seeking a Host who can manage the front door with warmth, accuracy, and strong floor awareness. This role is responsible for creating a strong first and last impression for guests while supporting reservation flow, phone communication, table readiness, seating accuracy, and overall front-of-house organization. The Host plays a meaningful role in pacing service, supporting guest satisfaction, and helping the restaurant operate smoothly throughout the shift. Core Responsibilities Guest Experience Greet guests promptly and warmly as they enter the restaurant Create a strong first impression through professional, attentive service Thank departing guests whenever possible Frequently check in with guests waiting to be seated and keep them informed Reservations, Phones, and Seating Flow Answer phones professionally and manage reservation inquiries accurately Maintain the reservation book and support smooth pacing of the dining room Complete table checks and stay aware of which tables are occupied, available, or close to turning Seat guests fairly while balancing server rotation, guest requests, and table availability Maintain full knowledge of the floor plan, table numbers, and sections Complete and communicate “in, open, and coming” counts as needed to support pacing Host Stand and Entry Standards Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready host stand Keep the restaurant entrance, doors, windows, and foyer clean and presentable Maintain proper cleanliness and uniform standards Perform assigned opening and closing side work Menus and Readiness Collect, clean, and organize menus Ensure menus are current and presentable Communicate menu-printing and replacement needs to management, including special menus as needed Operational Support Work with bussers and servers to ensure tables are reset quickly and correctly Occasionally clear tables when needed Check restrooms as appropriate to ensure cleanliness and proper stocking Communicate guest needs, comments, and service issues to management and the kitchen as appropriate Assist management and the front-of-house team as needed to support smooth operations Standards and Development Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards Continue learning about service, beverage, food, and hospitality Occasionally assist in training new front‑of‑house team members Uphold all CHG and Bouzy standards Candidate Profile The strongest fit for this role is someone who is naturally hospitable, organized, and highly aware of what is happening in the room. This person should be able to stay composed under pressure, communicate clearly, and balance guest needs with the operational realities of the floor. A strong Host is not just greeting people at the door. They are actively helping control flow, protect the guest experience, and keep the front of house from drifting into chaos. Preferred Skills and Experience Strong knowledge of reservation and phone systems Ability to read the room and respond to changing service needs Genuine interest in food, beverage, and hospitality Professional, polished guest interaction Coachable attitude and willingness to learn Ability to stay organized and maintain standards in a fast‑paced environment Knowledge of the restaurant and surrounding area sufficient to answer common guest questions Role Reality This is a front‑facing hospitality role with direct impact on guest experience and service flow. The Host is expected to stay engaged, organized, and aware throughout the shift while managing reservations, seating, guest communication, and front‑door standards. Success in this role depends on consistency, urgency, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with management and the rest of the front‑of‑house team. Reporting Structure This role reports to the General Manager, Assistant General Manager and Shift Managers.
