Associate Attorney

Litigation Associate AttorneyHartline Barger LLP, a nationally recognized trial law firm specializing in civil litigation, is seeking an attorney with 4+ years of litigation experience to join its growing Houston office. Personal Injury experience required. The ideal candidate will manage litigation cases and resolve legal disputes on behalf of our clients by developing agreements, negotiating contacts, settling claims and advocating for clients in court. This individual will build client relationships and provide an excellent customer experience for clients.RequirementsStrong academic and litigation backgroundExceptional writing and advocacy skillsIndependently manage a caseload – from beginning to endWork closely with other attorneys and Partners on a multitude of legal projectsRegularly handle court appearances and depositionsTake the lead with client communication and provide meaningful updatesPersonal injury experienceResponsibilities:Manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters from inception through trial or settlementConduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documentsPrepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and mediation with witness responsibilityPrepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clientsAdvise clients on business and legal transactionsNegotiate settlements for legal disputesComply with all legal standards and regulationsPerform administrative and management functions related to the practice of lawQualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the State Bar of Texas and in good standingPrevious experience in a Law Firm environment with an emphasis on Personal InjuryAbility to take and defend depositionsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to build rapport with clientsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBenefits:Generous Benefits Package including Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, LTD/STDHSA Plan with monthly employer contribution for the HDHP Insurance PlanEmployer-sponsored 401(k) Plan with matchPaid Parking in Adjacent GarageState Bar Dues, Continuing Education paid by Employer
