Assistant Controller One Times Square

The Assistant Controller at One Times Square oversees daily accounting functions, entries from point-of-sale systems, posting of cash receipts, bank reconciliations, credit card chargebacks, deferred revenue schedules, accruals, and departmental expense allocations. This position ensures accurate expense tracking and timely financial reporting. The Assistant Controller reports to the VP of Finance.

Essential Functions:

• Daily posting of POS transactions
• Departmental Expense Analysis
• Assist with workpaper packages
• Vendor invoice processing
• Third Party Revenue Distribution

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within the hospitality, travel, tourism, public accounting, or real estate industries.

Other:

• Bilingual or multilingual preferred but not required.

Job Functions, Knowledge, Skills and Working Conditions:

Regular attendance in conformity with standard working hours is imperative to the successful performance of this position. Due to the cyclical nature of the travel and tourism industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the needs of the attractions and other businesses.

Employees must comply fully with the company rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the attractions and other businesses. The physical demand requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. Walking and standing are required for a portion of the day, including walking the entire attraction. The length of time these tasks take may vary from day to day.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and demonstrate that he or she can perform the job's essential functions.

Communication & Knowledge:

• Proficiency in retail point of sale systems.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• The ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
• The ability to effectively listen and respond to internal and external people.
• Have a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, financial management software, and data visualization tools.
• Write clear, concise, and focused email messages and reports.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Special events outside the standard business hours may be required.

The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. To meet deadlines or attend special events, responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening/weekend hours.
