Job Description

Make a difference as a Special Education Teacher working with high school students in a comprehensive day class setting for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract opportunity offers educators the chance to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students who benefit from specialized instruction and care. You’ll play an essential role in helping each student reach their full potential, delivering creative and individualized lesson plans aimed at growth, life skills, and academic achievement.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Current Tennessee Teaching License
105 or 461 Endorsement required
CDC Certification
Experience working with high school students preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
Passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
Create a structured, positive classroom environment that encourages engagement and success
Deliver direct and small-group instruction in a comprehensive day class setting
Assess student progress, set measurable goals, and collaborate with support staff and families
Maintain detailed records and comply with special education regulations and district protocols
Foster social, emotional, and academic growth to help students thrive both in and out of the classroom
