Job summary Tatum is partnering with a prominent M&A advisory firm to engage a Senior M&A & Quality of Earnings (QofE) Financial Consultant. This project centers on preparing a lower-middle-market target company for an upcoming transaction, converting non-standard QuickBooks records into robust GAAP-compliant financial schedules, and supporting ongoing buyer due diligence through closing. This role requires a blend of hands-on bookkeeping cleanup, advanced financial modeling, and strategic deal-side transaction advisory. Job details location: Atlanta, Georgia job type: Contract salary: $75 - 100 per hour work hours: 9 to 5 education: Bachelor's degree experience: 5 Years Responsibilities Data Normalization & Ledger Clean-up: Reconcile, clean up, and convert disparate QuickBooks financial files into structured, GAAP-aligned financial statements. Maintain monthly entries through deal close. Master Databook Execution: Populate, refine, and manage the master financial model-establishing Proof of Cash, Net Income to Adjusted EBITDA bridge schedules, and Net Working Capital (NWC) analyses. Post-COVID Financial Normalization: Analyze historical financials across the post-COVID holding period to identify owner add-backs, non-recurring expenses/revenues, PPP/EIDL impacts, and run-rate adjustments. Buyer Due Diligence & Closing Support: Partner with the M&A Director to respond to technical accounting and financial diligence queries raised by prospective buy-side teams. Qualifications Licensure: Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) in good standing required. Experience: 5+ years in Transaction Advisory Services (TAS), Quality of Earnings (QofE) preparation, public accounting audit, or fractional CFO advisory for lower-middle-market deals. Software & Systems: Deep proficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop & Online) and an ability to navigate non-standard charts of accounts and messy ledgers. Financial Modeling: Advanced Excel capability (complex financial modeling, proof of cash reconciliations, schedule creation). Availability: Confirmed availability to commit to full-time hours for the initial 3-week phase, followed by flexible part-time availability through year-end.
