Job Title: Utility Operator Job Description

The Utility Operator is responsible for the careful handling, processing, and treatment of customer inventory in a production environment. This role focuses on performing detailed post-processing operations using hand and power tools, following documented work instructions, and maintaining accurate records to prevent loss or damage. The Utility Operator works closely with supervisors and leads to ensure all operations meet customer specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

• Review job folders thoroughly to verify the specific areas of each part to be processed, including masked, post-processing, and grit blast areas.
• Perform visual inspections of parts to identify defects or issues before and after processing.
• Use various hand and power tools to perform detailed processing operations according to work instructions and job folder requirements.
• Accurately record and sign off on all applicable data and process steps defined in the job folder.
• Report any problems, inaccuracies in job folders, damaged parts, or issues with post-processing materials to the lead or supervisor promptly.
• Follow in-process inspection procedures to verify that current operations meet customer specifications and job folder requirements.
• Assist the supervisor in developing and refining processes that improve operational efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Observe all Environment, Health, and Safety policy requirements and comply with established safety standards.
• Keep the work area neat, orderly, and free of hazards at all times.
• Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the tasks being performed.
• Dispose of waste materials in accordance with safety and environmental standards.

• Ability to work in both sitting and standing positions for extended periods of time in an office and industrial environment.
• Strong manual dexterity with steady hands to perform detailed post-processing operations requiring a high degree of attention to detail.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production and manufacturing processes.
• Experience using hand tools to perform manual processes.
• Experience working in a production environment.
• Demonstrated organization skills to manage job folders and process documentation accurately.
• Strong documentation skills to record, track, and sign off on process data.
• Material handling experience in a busy, fast-paced environment.

• Experience in manufacturing or production operations preferred.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools used in industrial and post-processing applications.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and inspection procedures.
• High level of attention to detail to ensure parts meet customer and job folder requirements.
• Capability to support process improvements in collaboration with supervisors.
• Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• ITAR compliance requirement: candidates must meet applicable regulatory eligibility criteria.

The role is based in a busy, fast-paced industrial setting that is not climate controlled. Work is performed in a clean shop environment with standard 8-hour shifts. The position involves extended periods of sitting and standing, frequent use of hand and power tools, and detailed manual operations. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required and must be worn as directed. The workspace is maintained in a neat and orderly condition, and waste is disposed of according to safety and environmental standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hebron, KY.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Hebron,KY.
