Must-Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.
• 10-12 years of experience in development
• Hands on experience programming with Python 3 and Django
• Experience of automation of code deployment through the use of containers
• Docker/Podman experience
• Experience with RHEL Linux
• Experience with SQL
• Experience with Bash
• Hands-on experience with code reviews and release management
• Experience with automated testing
• Experience with CI/CD automation
• Experience with Git

Plus:

• Understanding of secure coding best practices

Day to Day:

• An employer is seeking a Principal System Engineer to sit in Jersey City, NJ. Daily responsibilities will include supporting the engineering, governance and operation for a strategic platform to support IaaS offering across multiple data centers. As a System Engineer developer on this team, the candidate would use agile methodology to develop features on Python 3.x and Django web framework.

Key responsibilities include:

• Research and implement new features for the platform.
• Work with team members to architect solutions to support evolving infrastructure and application needs.
• Configure, tune and test key platform components. Optimize runtime and security profiles.
• Delve into platform technologies (Ansible, Terraform, Vault, etc.), using or configuring in order to support the platform's goals
• Investigate performance or reliability issues, Debug and resolve production issues.
