• SENIOR SUPERINTENDENT
• POSITION SUMMARY:

Metcon is a commercial general contractor that specializes in construction management, negotiated, design-build and select hard-bid projects. The Senior Superintendent is responsible for leading, directing, and overseeing complex commercial construction projects from start through close-out, commissioning, and warranty.

The ideal candidate will have **strong K-12 construction experience, with middle school and/or high school project experience highly preferred.** Experience successfully managing occupied-campus construction, renovations, additions, or new school construction is a strong plus.

Coordinate all site construction activities and supervise field staff, Foremen, Sub-Foremen when applicable, subcontractors, and trade partners. Effectively manage project activities to meet schedule and budget requirements while maintaining Metcon’s standards for quality and safety.

Serve as a key point of contact for project communications, planning, coordination, and reporting. Ensure project goals, objectives, and initiatives are met in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Metcon.

Lead, direct and oversee the safe and effective daily operation of a single or multiple project(s) depending on size and complexity. Ability to execute project objectives resulting in “on time” and within budget. Ability to lead, monitor, and develop junior roles within the team. Actively participate in the development and implementation of major strategic initiatives for the division. Establish project objectives and policies, maintain liaison with prime clients and monitor construction and financial activities. Act as needed to ensure project goals, objectives and initiatives are met in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Metcon.

• Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Set clear and attainable goals for the field operations team and hold each team member accountable. Responsible for building highperforming teams through best practices in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, training/development, and employee engagement.
• Lead field operations teams to implement and maintain clean, organized, and safe work sites while maximizing efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Lead the overall project schedule, including schedule development and updates, and implement the schedule by coordinating subcontractors, trade partners, and resources.
• Manage contract requirements and scopes of work, field documentation, punchlist, closeout, and communication of contract/scope changes with the Project Manager.
• Provide extensive field coordination of trades and construction activities.
• Assist in business development pursuits through fieldspecific knowledge, presentations, and client relationship management.
• Lead planning and project setup during preconstruction, including constructability, scheduling, scopes of work, and site logistics.
• Effectively manage K12 school construction activities, including coordination with school representatives, owners, architects, trade partners, and other stakeholders.

• Instill and maintain a highly motivated staff by promoting a healthy and safe work environment.
• Review construction documents and scopes of work for each subcontractor to coordinate site logistics and maintain the construction schedule.
• Maintain positive working relationships with Owners and Architects to promote repeat business and references.
• Safety Management
• Ensure site compliance in conjunction with the Metcon Safety Director.
• Ensure each phase of construction maintains site and occupant safety and immediately rectify jobsite safety hazards.
• Ensure all project personnel follow the Project Safety Plan and properly use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment.
• Lead and conduct regular onsite safety meetings with Metcon Field Staff and applicable subcontractors.
• Minimum Qualifications & Training:
• Construction Management or Construction Technology preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
• Minimum 8 years of field supervision experience.
• K12 commercial construction experience required; middle school and/or high school construction experience strongly preferred.
• Experience leading groundup, renovation, addition, and/or occupiedcampus school projects preferred.
• Travel is required; must have a valid Driver’s License.
• High level of emotional intelligence and integrity.
• Proactive approach to problem solving and strong conflictmanagement skills.
