Nurse PractitionerPay Rate: $150,000.00 SalaryThe Nurse Practitioner, with an approved collaborative practice agreement, provides advanced nursing services and patient care in the facility's medical program.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Diagnose, treat, and care for incarcerated patients.Conduct physical examinations and identify short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed.Determine abnormal conditions by administering or ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.Manage wounds and infections.Prescribe and administer medications as appropriate.Counsel inmates on preventive care, medical problems, and use of prescribed treatment.Performs routine wound care, minor debridement, and dressing changes.Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.Utilizes the results of Quality Assurance to improve standards of inmate care and standards of nursing practice.Complies with all rules, directives, policies, procedures, and protocols of the institution.Performs other duties as assigned.Education and Experience:Current & valid Nurse Practitioner (NP) licenseBLS/CPR certificationCurrent DEA license and prescriptive authorityMust be able to pass background checkExperience as practicing as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate area of practiceCorrectional experience preferred but not requiredPhysical Requirements:Continuous sitting for up to 2-3 hoursContinuous periods of walking and standing for 4 or more hours per shiftOccasional climbing stairs up to 3 times per shiftRemaining awake and alert while on duty for 12 or more hours per shiftLifting and carrying up to 20 lbs periodically and lifting up to 50-100 lbs rarelyFrequently working on computers/tablets throughout the shiftFrequent grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting
