Reports To: Director, Client Accounting Primary Function: Maintain financial statements for commercial and multifamily real estate properties Education: BS Degree in Accounting, CPA preferred. Minimum five years' work-related experience Qualifications: Accounting experience including financial statement reporting, bank reconciliations and journal entries. GAAP reporting experience, advanced Excel skills, financial planning experience, and real estate experience are required. MRI or Yardi experience a plus. Key Skills and Core Values:Collaboration with Thalhimer's accounting and property management teamsClient Focus addressing questions and requests for information from owners and asset managers.Results Focused and ability to work independently.Continuous Improvement, make recommendationsExcellence   Responsibilities:Prepare monthly financial statements & supporting schedulesPractical understanding of accounting principles Monthly bank reconciliations, research and resolve reconciling itemsMortgage escrow account reconciliationsJournal entries, including accruals, depreciation and amortization, etc.Balance sheet reconciliationsRecord transactions from a closing statementCalculate distributions to ownersMonitor cash flow and accounts payableValidate/calculate monthly management fee calculationAssist owners with year-end audit/tax reportingDevelop and update short- and long-term cash forecasts to assess available liquidity and support owner distribution planningAssist with the onboarding of new properties, record activity from prior manager, monitor utility, mortgage, and other sensitive vendorMonthly bank reconciliations for master accounts and resolution of reconciling itemsSpecial projectsTrain and support accounting team members
