About This Role The Director of Patient Care for Emergency Services is responsible for overseeing nursing practice, patient care delivery, and regulatory compliance within the department. Highlights Location: Riverhead, NY Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift What You’ll Do Direct and have 24-hour responsibility for patient care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Participate in developing the nursing strategic plan for the area of responsibility. Implement policies and programs aligning with strategic goals and organizational values. Create and communicate a shared vision to achieve hospital and organizational goals. Collaborate with physician leaders and department administrators to achieve top-level outcomes. Uphold and advance high-quality patient and family-centered care. Ensure a professional work environment that fosters respect, engagement, and accountability. Promote evidence-based, ethical, and compassionate practice. Direct staffing for patient care units and collaborate with HR to fulfill requirements. Select, develop, manage, and evaluate nurse leaders.
