Physical Therapy Assistant

Purpose:
Conduct patient care as directed by Physical Therapist and participate in efficient, cost-effective planning and operation of the Physical Therapy Department.
Responsibilities:
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Two (2) years experience in Physical Therapy Assisting preferred, but new graduates are accepted. BLS provider or obtain within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities:
- Delivers treatment based on initial assessment by a physical therapist.
- Provides feedback to the supervising physical therapist based on patient's progress.
- Interacts with other disciplines when necessary to meet patient's needs.
- Participates in the discharge process with patient, family and other disciplines as necessary.
- Provides education to promote knowledge and skills needed to meet patient's needs.
- Informs patients and family of charges related to the patient's program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
