Machinist (R&D)

In the Global Products Group, we are dedicated to excellence in the design and engineering ofLam's etch and deposition products. We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutionsare helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry.

You'll be joining Global Product Engineering's Mechatronics group, based in Fremont, CA. This team is at the forefront of new product development for wafer handling robotics and mechatronics assemblies.

As an R & D Machinist, you will play an essential role in developing cutting-edge robotics and mechatronic solutions for Lam tools. Your contributions will help accelerate time-to-volume, optimize cost structures, and ensure world-class quality, directly supporting Lam's growth and technological leadership.

• Oversee the R & D machine shop operations
• Operate both CNC and manual mills, lathes, and other precision cutting tools and equipment
• Calibrate, set up, and install cutting tools, fixtures, and attachments on manual and CNC machines
• Cut, shape, and fabricate tools and machine parts with high precision
• Collaborate closely with engineers to design and fabricate precision parts
• Utilize 3D CAD to convert engineering models for CNC machining
• Ensure all work meets quality standards, technical instructions, and specifications
• Maintain compliance with industry regulations
• Regularly clean, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment as needed

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and proficiency with a wide variety of industry tools and machinery
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Proven experience with precision machining tools and equipment
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds

• Knowledge of Semiconductor equipment, Capital Equipment industry and its manufacturing processes.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, in English.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $104,000.00 -$231,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
