Code2College is dramatically increasing the number of minority and low-income high school students who enter and excel in STEM undergraduate majors and careers and is looking to hire a Part-Time
Program Coordinator to support its mission. 

This is a hybrid position with in-person responsibilities for recruitment, events, and classes. Program coordinator will support in person courses. 

OVERVIEW

As a Part-Time Program Coordinator , you will support a cohort of students and schools in Abilene, Texas and across the United States. You will support Code2College classes virtually and in person, lead student check-ins, support recruitment, and participate in Code2College events and other program activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Student & Program Support

• Support a portfolio of student participants in Abilene, Texas and across the United States, serving as a consistent point of contact throughout their program experience.
• Lead student check-ins, monitor engagement and participation, and provide follow-up and support as needed.
• Support virtual and in-person Code2College classes, including observing classes and helping ensure students have the support they need to participate and succeed.
• Draft and coordinate student-facing communications, reminders, and other program materials.
• Support student recruitment and onboarding activities.

Program Data & Improvement

• Track and analyze student-level performance and engagement data to identify meaningful insights and opportunities to improve program effectiveness.
• Support programmatic projects and initiatives, including implementation, coordination, and follow-through.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with student participants, volunteer instructors, schools, and other stakeholders.
• Help cultivate a strong sense of community within and across Code2College programs.
• Support communication and coordination with program partners and other stakeholders.

Events & In-Person Programming

• Participate in and support Code2College in-person events, including recruitment events, workshops, promotional events, partner events, and lunch and learns.
• Support event preparation, execution, and follow-up as needed.

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

• Must be available Monday through Friday, 3:00–6:00 PM CST to support Code2College classes, with additional availability outside these hours for events and caseload responsibilities, for up to 30 hours per week .
• Additional availability outside of these hours is required for student support, program responsibilities, and events.
• This position is up to 30 hours per week .
• May require occasional work outside of normal business hours and on Saturdays.
• Other duties as assigned.

Ideal candidates will have:

• MUST live in the Abilene, Texas area.
• Must have reliable transportation.

• Willingness to work various evenings and weekends required .

• Experience in a 6-12 setting prioritized. 
• Experience in an education setting is preferred.
• Is flexible and open minded.
• Experience working with a nonprofit or a startup is a plus.
• A love for working with people, both adults and youth.
• Has impeccable professionalism which will serve as a model for students.
• Has a proven track record of attention to detail and effective execution.
• Is a clear communicator, both verbal and in writing.
  
• Authorization to work in the United States required.

WHAT WE OFFER

The part-time work will include an hourly part-time rate of $15-20 per hour with a maximum of 30 hours per week. Your work days will be exclusive to Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday expectations for in-person events such as student recruitment and supplementary events, volunteer trainings and workshops. Benefits will not be extended for the part-time role.

These students often lack access to some of the most in-demand careers and technical industries. Further, the absence of opportunity to explore these areas through exposure to industry professionals, technical skills development, and at-bats to practically apply these skills has led to the dearth of diverse technical talent that we see today. We believe that through our approach to education, exposure, and experience, we can enhance student preparation for rigorous, technical careers and mitigate some of the key factors around STEM attrition. Code2College has served over 3,000 students since 2016 and we plan to have served over 8,000 students by 2024.
