AVEVA is creating software trusted by over 90% of leading industrial companies.Position: Senior Technical Program Manager Locations: Cambridge, UK / Philadelphia, PA Employment Type: Full-time The Job AVEVA’s Chief Technologist Organization is hiring an experienced technical program manager to help us track and coordinate our work investigating and incubating emerging technologies. Reporting to the VP, Strategic Programs & Operations, you'll work closely with technical leaders across the organization to develop and define program plans for our technical initiatives, making sure they align to our broader strategy and priorities, have well-defined objectives that further our technical understanding in key areas, and include concrete milestones and deliverables. You'll develop and implement tracking and reporting processes so leadership always has a clear, up-to-date view of progress. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape how our growing organization structures its programming in a way that allows us to deliver innovative and advanced industrial technology. The ideal candidate has a deep technical grounding that allows them to quickly develop understanding of emerging technical areas (e.g. AI, IoT, XR/VR, etc), strong multi-level communication and organization skills, and the ability to synthesize technical details into coherent programs. Key Responsibilities: Develop a flexible but repeatable approach to defining technical program plans that can be applied across the CT organization Help technical leaders connect their plans to the org's broader priorities and strategy, flagging gaps or misalignment Work with senior technical leaders within the CT Organization to translate requirements from other parts of AVEVA and customers into tangible programs that align to the CT Org’s broader strategy Track progress across initiatives and keep documentation and dashboards current so status is always visible Spot risks, bottlenecks, or scaling issues early by staying close to the technical details, and raise them before they become problems Set up and run a regular cadence for reviews, decisions, and prioritization across initiatives Make sure initiatives follow privacy, security, and responsible-technology guidelines Build strong relationships across teams so you can get accurate information, keep people aligned, and manage dependencies between initiatives Provide operational support for AVEVA’s AI Capabilities Operating Committee (AICO), which drives alignment across AI solution and capability within AVEVA products and services Essential Requirements: 12+ years of experience in technical program management, including 5+ years working closely with complex emerging-technology initiatives Strong enough technical background to understand and translate what technical leaders are building, even without leading that work directly Skilled at turning informal or in-progress technical work into clear, structured program plans Experience helping teams align their work to broader organizational strategy and priorities Experience working in regulated industries like industrial, IoT, life sciences, manufacturing, energy, or similar Strong communication skills — able to build trust with technical leaders, translate technical work for non-technical audiences, and clearly report status and risks Master's degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or a related field; PhD preferred Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.Desired Skills and Competencies: Familiarity with responsible deployment, risk management, and technology governance practices Curious, detail-oriented mindset — comfortable digging into technical work you're not personally building Comfortable working iteratively and adjusting plans as technical work evolves What Success Looks Like: Technical leaders' work is clearly reflected in structured, trackable program plans Initiatives stay visibly aligned with the org's broader strategy and priorities Leadership always has an accurate, up-to-date view of progress across initiatives Risks and misalignments are caught early, not after the fact Simple, reusable templates and processes make planning and tracking easier over time Strong trust and collaboration with technical leaders, even without formal authority over their work UK Benefits include:Flexible benefits fund, emergency leave days, adoption leave, 28 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), pension, life cover, private medical insurance, parental leave, education assistance program.It’s possible we’re hiring for this position in multiple countries, in which case the above benefits apply to the primary location.
