CNC Machinist - Programmer

Summary of Responsibility: Innovative Machinery Group is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to support multi-axis turning operations, ranging from 2-axis tailstock lathes to sub-spindle / Y-axis configurations with the knowledge base to help support the milling department as needed. This is a hands‑on role requiring a strong presence on the shop floor. The ideal candidate will be actively involved in developing processes, proving out programs, and supporting operators to ensure efficient, repeatable results in a high‑mix, low‑volume environment. What You Will Contribute: Lead turning program development for 2, 3 and 5 axis lathes Develop complete machining processes; select the appropriate tooling, speeds/feeds, work holding, machining strategy, and create set‑up sheets for production runs Interpret prints and models to create practical, efficient machining approaches Work directly with operators and set‑up personnel to support daily production needs Support frequent job changeovers and provide additional attention to one‑off and short‑run parts Identify and implement improvements to cycle times, tool life, and process reliability Maintain a master part program library Support programming for 3 and 4 axis machining centers as needed Other Functions: Perform related duties as required The duties listed above are intended only as illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. Ability to work responsibly and professionally in dynamic job sites that may involve tight timelines, changing priorities, and interaction with customers and team members. Safety‑Sensitive Considerations: Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach for extended periods while servicing equipment. Ability to work in tight spaces or awkward positions, including accessing equipment interiors and elevated areas. Strong hand–eye coordination and fine motor skills required for precise electrical, mechanical, and diagnostic work. Ability to work in industrial environments, with exposure to noise, lubricants, coolants, metal chips, and other manufacturing conditions, while consistently wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
