The program includes classroom curriculum, simulation for skills practice and testing, and on-the-job training in clinical units. Students learn essential skills such as obtaining vital signs, bathing, grooming, positioning, toileting, ambulating, and other aide duties. The program also covers legal rights, communication, safety, observation, reporting, and assisting individuals in maintaining basic comfort, independence, and safety. Takes vital signs including, pulse and blood pressure. Helps patients with their basic needs, i.e., bathing, dressing and feeding. Performs routine assigned tasks and reports patients' status and concerns to the RN. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
