Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- Experience in self-contained classroom environments preferred
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Dedication to supporting students with varied academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction for students in a self-contained classroom
- Develop and carry out Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Create an inclusive, supportive, and structured learning environment
- Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
- Effectively communicate with families, team members, and administrators
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support planning
- Maintain organized and accurate records related to classroom activities and student performance
