Empower young learners and make a lasting difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in grades 3-8. This rewarding contract opportunity is perfect for compassionate, skilled educators who are passionate about individualized instruction and inclusion.
As a vital team member, your expertise will be needed in multiple areas:
- Resource/inclusion teaching for 3rd-5th and 6th-8th grade students
- Leading an elementary self-contained classroom designed for children with significant Autism needs
Ideal candidates bring a commitment to fostering academic growth, self-confidence, and social development in every child.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience in resource and inclusion settings with elementary and/or middle school students
- Track record supporting students with Autism, particularly in self-contained classrooms
- Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted instruction to students in resource and inclusion settings for 3rd-8th grades
- Design and implement IEPs tailored to individual student needs
- Maintain a supportive classroom culture for students with significant Autism in a self-contained setting
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive, accessible learning
- Track and report on student progress; communicate regularly with families and district teams
