Location: Primarily based o n property at Grand Lake Lodge, CO 80447. This is an on-site position and is not eligible for hybrid or remote work. We are seeking a local candidate, preferably based in Granby to Grand Lake area of Colorado. During Grand Lake Lodge's off season, this position will provide seasonal sales coverage for Palm Canyon Hotel and Borrego Valley Inn in California, including occasional travel to these properties for on-site support as needed.

Job Overview:

Drive group room nights and banquet/event revenue by aggressively prospecting, negotiating and closing high-value group business. The Sales Manager will primarily support Grand Lake Lodge in Colorado during its operating season and provide seasonal coverage for Palm Canon Hotel and Borrego Valley Inn in California during Grand Lake Lodge's off-season.


This position is responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue goals across assigned properties through proactive business development, account management, and strategic sales planning. The role requires flexibility to transition between properties based on seasonal business needs, including occasional or periodic travel to California for on-site sales support.


The Sales Manager will collaborate closely with fellow sales managers to share leads, optimize cross-selling, and maximize total hotel revenue across the portfolio. The role will independently manage the sales and event-detailing lifecycle for contracted groups, from initial inquiry and contract execution through final detailing and handoff to the operations team for seamless execution.


Responsibilities:

• Drive and close group business to meet and exceed property budgeted group and event revenues, while strategically placing the business on need dates to maximize total property revenue.
• Aggressively prospect for new business to meet weekly outbound activity goals
• Negotiate contracts to maximize property financial profitability
• Exceed revenue targets on a consistent monthly basis.
• Work in collaboration with sales peers to share incoming business leads
• Plans and executes site tours and/or client events on property
• Develops and executes quarterly sales plans to illustrate strategic account and group booking strategies
• Develop and nurture a sales pipeline utilizing TripleSeat CRM to manage all bookings, client relationships and illustrate selling cycles.
• Manage event lifecycles independently and accurately from initial contract to completion.
• Detail group contracts and BEOs include but not limited to menus, setup diagrams, coordination of vendors coming onto the property, billing etc.
• Coordinate logistics and communication thoroughly prior to the arrival and execution date.
• Collaborate flawless execution through seamless communication and operational team handoffs.
• Performs additional duties and works collaboratively with General Manager May be asked to take direction from RVP of Operations, Revenue Manager, Vice President of Commercial Strategy and Sr. Vice President of Operations as it relates to top line revenue generation.
• Deliver weekly sales reporting to designated distribution lists on property and above property in accordance with Highway Wet Vacations best practice standards.
• Lives the Highway West Vacations core values and conducts themselves as a team player professionally and ethically with clients, colleagues and supervisors.
• Collaborate with hotel management teams, property event staff, reservationists, front desk agents and other departments to ensure streamlined communication and flawless execution for the property's guests.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospitality sales, with proven track record year-over-year growth in group business and revenue.
• At least 5 years of overall sales experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in outdoor hospitality.
• In depth understanding of hospitality market segments, including S.M.E.R.F. (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, and Fraternal), corporate, nonprofit and government markets, including their buying cycles, decision making processes, and purchasing behaviors.
• Experience using sales and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms; TripleSeat experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in sales software, CRM systems, and property management and reservation systems.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Preferably based in the Granby to Grand Lake area of Colorado, with the ability and willingness to travel occasionally to California to support Palm Canyon Hotel and Borrego Valley Inn during the opposite seasonal operating period of Grand Lake Lodge.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times.
• Ability to travel occasionally between assigned properties as business needs require.

Important Position Clarification:

This is a sales-focused role, not a catering or events management position responsible for executing events. The Sales Manager is responsible for generating and securing business, managing client relationships, and completing group detailing and operational handoffs. On-site support at California properties will focus on sales activities, business development, and revenue generation.
