RN PCU Travel Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU, Med-surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Active WA license required Certifications: Not specified Must-Have: Experience in all areas of PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg Description: 25-bed critical access hospital seeking an RN for MSU/PCU. Candidate must be experienced in all areas and willing to flex between departments as needed. Identifies patients and significant others' needs for patient education. Provides education utilizing appropriate educational modalities. Identifies and ensures patient safety through preventative measures. Follows restraint policy correctly and evaluates/documentation appropriately. Demonstrates knowledge of safe operation of all equipment in the PCU, Telemetry, and MedSurg areas. Aware of troubleshooting techniques and follows procedures for repair of essential equipment. Able to access equipment manuals as needed. Implements infection control and isolation procedures following proper procedures and documentation. Utilizes standard precautions at all times. Maintains complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status. Documents nursing interventions and patient responses during assigned shifts. Documents charge accurately. Ensures accuracy and completes physician's orders in a timely manner. Completes a 24-hour check of orders if within the duties of the assigned shift. Gives change of shift report to oncoming employees in a complete and accurate manner. Communicates with other departments completely and accurately. Reports critical lab values to the physician in a timely manner according to policy. Maintains and restocks emergency carts, rooms, and general supplies. Performs other duties as assigned. Position urgency is normal. Holiday coverage is required.
