Safety Specialist

This is a permanent (NOT A CONTRACT), non-exempt position paid on an hourly rate and eligible for overtime pay. $55 - $58 per hour + OT + benefits. 50 - 60 hours per week expected. $10k will be provided as relocation assistance for non-local candidates OR as a sign-on bonus for local candidates. An industry leading MEP contractor is looking to appoint a Project Safety Specialist in Reno, NV. You will be responsible for overseeing safety performance on a marquee project in the Reno area. The Role: Undertake job site inspections, accident investigations and audits as deemed necessary - putting forward corrective actions to continually develop the safety program and culture Work in partnership with the Safety Director in highlighting key safety metrics/trends on the jobsite, which will be reported back to senior leadership Conduct new hire-orientation and implement training programs in compliance with all OSHA requirements Engage with all operational leadership, job-site teams, GC and the client in regards to safety related matters - acting as the technical expert for any issues that may arise The Candidate: A minimum of 3 years proven experience managing safety on major construction projects. Mechanical experience desired CHST certification (strongly desired) - Candidates will be expected to achieve CHST if hired for the position A strong communicator who can engage with both key internal and external stakeholders Based near Reno, and happy to travel to the project daily (Relo Assistance will be provided) #J-18808-Ljbffr
