Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Respiratory Care Practitioner, you will competently provide essential respiratory care for neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Your expertise is vital for critical respiratory interventions and patient well‑being. Every day you will perform arterial punctures, continuous ventilation, airway maintenance, emergency care, infection control, isolation procedures, mechanical ventilator operation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and medical gas administration. To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical skills in all aspects of respiratory care across age groups, meticulous attention to detail, a strong commitment to patient safety and infection control, and the ability to perform effectively in emergencies. Works in at least two (2) of the following areas: Adult ICUs, Labor & Delivery/Nursery, non‑critical acute adult areas, ED/Relief Shift Leader, Skilled nursing facility. Must remain at least 98% of the time. Demonstrates the ability to draw and run an arterial blood gas sample with 100% accuracy. Reports and documents critical results reporting within 5 minutes of analysis to RN or Physician. The results will be phoned or given in person. Expected outcome: No more than four (4) omissions annually. Patient Assessment: Complete assessment performed on all new patients according to department policy. To include: Physical assessment, History, Acuity check, and patient Care Plan. Accurate assessment and response to therapy given will be reevaluated in all patients daily. Job Requirements Required Completion of an AMA approved respiratory therapy program. If no qualified candidate, may consider training positions, depending on staffing needs. Respiratory Care Practitioner: CA. Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association. Preferred One (1) year clinical experience.
