NICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated NICU Registered Nurse to join our clinical team. This position specializes in providing exceptional care for neonatal patients within a Level II NICU setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for caring for infants, including both well babies and those with specific medical needs.

Unit Information

• NICU Level: Level II
• Beds: 6 designed beds, with 2 transition beds that can overflow to 8 depending on staffing.
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: Based on AWHONN acuity standards, ratios can be 1:2 or 1:3 within the NICU. Postpartum and well babies are typically at a 1:3 ratio.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients with common diagnoses including TTN, RDS, feeder growers, hyperbilirubinemia, and hypoglycemia.
• Attend deliveries and perform assessments on neonatal patients.
• Manage couplet assignments, caring for postpartum mothers and their infants.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE Certification.
• Experience with neonatal care, particularly in a Level II NICU setting.
• Ability to work within established protocols and standards.

Working Conditions

• Shifts: 6 PM to 6:30 AM, with weekends and holidays required.
• Call Requirements: Participation in call and standby may be necessary.
• Floating Requirements: Staff may be required to float to other departments as needed.
• Dress Code: Professional colors are required.

Cancellation Policy

The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts for assignments of 13 weeks or longer, and 3 shifts for shorter assignments.
