Oceania Policy & Engagement Support Specialist - TS/SCI Clearance

Work You’ll Do As a Project Lead Integration Engineer II, you will provide political-military planning, policy analysis, engagement coordination, and senior-leader staff support. The position supports planning and execution of regional engagements, senior-level meetings, official visits, partner interactions, and related policy and strategy activities across Oceania and the broader Pacific region. Additionally, researches regional, political, economic, defense, and security developments; develops decision-support products; coordinates staffing across command, component, interagency, and external stakeholders; and helps synchronize engagement activities with U.S. policy, defense posture, and regional objectives. Key Responsibilities Regional Planning and Policy Support Conduct research and analysis on Oceania political-military affairs, regional security developments, defense policy, partner relationships, and emerging issues affecting U.S. interests.Track developments involving Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Island partners, and other relevant regional actors, as assigned.Assess the implications of regional events, policy changes, elections, leadership transitions, military developments, natural disasters, and security trends.Support development and maintenance of regional engagement plans, country plans, synchronization matrices, and planning calendars.Translate complex or rapidly changing information into concise findings, recommendations, decision points, and actions for senior leaders.Support integration of regional planning activities with broader U.S. policy, theater strategy, defense posture, security cooperation, and engagement objectives.Identify potential policy, coordination, scheduling, resourcing, or stakeholder risks and elevate them to the appropriate government or contractor lead.Maintain awareness of relevant command guidance, policy documents, planning assumptions, and reporting requirements. Senior Leader and Staff Product Development Draft and coordinate senior-leader-ready products, including Decision memoranda, Information papers, Executive summaries, briefing slides, talking points, Background papers, Country and partner overviews, meeting read-ahead materials, trip books, testimony support materials, After-action reports and recurring regional reportsDevelop concise recommendations that clearly identify the issue, operational or policy context, options, risks, and recommended way ahead.Prepare written responses to taskers and requests for information from senior leaders, primary staff, components, sub-unified commands, and interagency partners.Review products for factual accuracy, consistency with approved policy and guidance, appropriate classification markings, grammar, formatting, and staffing completeness.Incorporate comments from multiple stakeholders while preserving the purpose, accuracy, and timeliness of the final product.Maintain version control and ensure that final products are distributed to authorized recipients. Engagement and Visit Planning Support planning and execution of regional engagements, senior-level meetings, official visits, conferences, and partner events.Develop engagement planning materials, including objectives, desired outcomes, participant lists, agendas, discussion themes, coordination timelines, and decision points.Coordinate inputs for leader schedules, meeting requests, itineraries, read-aheads, talking points, biographies, country briefs, and background materials.Track suspense dates and dependencies associated with visits, including invitations, approvals, logistics, security coordination, travel documentation, and stakeholder inputs.Support preparation for bilateral and multilateral engagements with regional partners and other relevant organizations.Coordinate pre-event staffing, on-site support requirements, and post-event follow-up.Prepare after-action documentation that captures outcomes, commitments, unresolved issues, and recommended follow-up actions.Maintain an engagement tracker that records planned, active, completed, and follow-up activities.Identify opportunities to synchronize related engagements and reduce duplicative coordination across staff elements. Stakeholder Coordination and Integrated Staffing Coordinate across headquarters, service components, subordinate and sub-unified commands, joint staff elements, interagency organizations, and other authorized stakeholders.Facilitate staffing of regional policy and engagement products through appropriate channels.Maintain clear records of action officers, responsibilities, suspenses, decisions, and outstanding issues.Coordinate with subject-matter experts to validate political, military, economic, diplomatic, and regional information.Support cross-functional working groups and planning sessions by preparing agendas, facilitating discussion, documenting decisions, and tracking action items.Build productive working relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries regarding authority, classification, official positions, and release of information.Communicate changes in assumptions, timelines, priorities, and tasking to affected stakeholders. Long-Term Planning and Continuous Improvement Support development and refinement of annual and multi-year engagement plans for Oceania.Contribute to periodic reviews of regional priorities, partner relationships, engagement outcomes, and emerging security challenges.Develop repeatable processes, templates, checklists, and tracking mechanisms to improve staff efficiency and product quality.Analyze trends across engagements and recurring reporting to identify capability gaps, relationship opportunities, unresolved issues, and areas requiring senior-level attention.Support lessons-learned activities and incorporate approved improvements into planning processes.Help maintain institutional knowledge by organizing reference materials, historical products, partner information, and engagement records.Assist with planning for major regional events, exercises, conferences, leadership visits, or policy milestones.Support transition and continuity activities when personnel, priorities, or organizational responsibilities change. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, regional studies, national security studies, public policy, or a related field.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the futureAbility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance is required5+ years of experience supporting political-military, policy, strategy, security cooperation, or regional engagement functions.5+ years of experience researching and analyzing complex regional issues and producing senior leader-ready written products, briefings, and recommendations.5+ years of experience in coordination, communication, and staffing within a joint, interagency, or similarly complex environment.Ability to travel internationally, as needed. Preferred: Master’s degree in international relations, national security, public policy, Asian studies, strategic studies, or a related field.Formal training or certification such as, JPME I/II, PMP, CGSC, ILE, or other relevant PME.Knowledge of Indo-Pacific alliances, partnerships, and regional political-military issues.Familiarity with Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Island countries, and Oceania’s regional security environment.Understanding of regional defense relationships, security cooperation mechanisms, maritime security issues, economic and diplomatic dynamics, and the effects of climate, disaster response, and transnational challenges on regional stability.Familiarity with major regional institutions, partner-government structures, and cultural considerations affecting official engagement.Demonstrated ability to distinguish country-specific perspectives and priorities from broader U.S. policy objectives. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113,300 to $188,900.
