Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for ER patients using the nursing process and established standards.
• Assess patient needs, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate outcomes with critical thinking and professional discretion.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, monitor responses, and manage acute changes in patient condition.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurses of other levels, and the multidisciplinary team; communicate with patients and families.
• Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of nursing staff during the shift, ensuring safe and effective care.
• Document care and patient status in the electronic medical record; ensure accuracy and compliance with policies.

Requirements

• Availability to work 3x12-hour night shifts
• Ability to work in a fast-paced ER environment
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to document accurately in electronic health records and participate in multidisciplinary rounds
• Travel readiness and willingness to relocate to Bakersfield, CA for a 13-week assignment
