IT Infrastructure Technician

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is hiring an IT Infrastructure Technician. The role involves participating in a structured rotational development program, rotating through IT infrastructure functions such as Construction, Break/Fix, Refresh, and Tier 2 Networking Support to build comprehensive knowledge of networking environments and operational processes. The technician will troubleshoot network issues, configure network equipment, and support network performance and maintenance. Highlights Participate in a rotational development program covering multiple IT infrastructure functions approximately every 9-12 months. Troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex network issues involving building-level and layer 1 and 2 network components. Configure layer 2 network equipment including switches and hubs per network design guidelines. Evaluate network performance, maintain systems, review procedures, and document processes for improvements. Support new building construction, data center updates, and renovation projects with network infrastructure integration. Serve as a technical resource for coworkers and customers on layer 2 networks of small to medium-size buildings. Required to obtain CCNA certification or equivalent within the first 12 months of employment. Qualifications include an associate's degree with two years of relevant experience or a high school diploma with four years of experience; a valid driver's license is required.
