Position: Infection Preventionist

Location: City, State

Shift Details

Schedule: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)
Days: Monday - Friday
No weekends or holidays required

Job Description

This contract role will continue until May 2027 to cover a long-term leave of absence. Candidates must be flexible with requests for time off (RTO) beyond the past 13 weeks due to the long duration of the contract.

The Infection Preventionist will work independently and is responsible for infection prevention activities within an acute care facility. Experience in Infection Prevention and acute care settings is required.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year of experience in Infection Prevention required
Experience in an acute care setting is mandatory
CIC certification is required
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Lab Sciences, Microbiology, or a related health science field is preferred
House Supervisors with Infection Prevention experience will be considered

Preferred Skills

Experience with Epic charting system is highly preferred
Knowledge of infection control practices and regulations
Understanding of antibiotic stewardship, healthcare-acquired infections (HAIs), and surveillance reporting
Ability to educate staff on infection prevention practices
