Job Description The Direct Support Professional is responsible for a variety of duties related to the overall care of consumers residing in community residential settings. This includes direct care of program individuals and implementation of individual support plans, all client related activities, documenting consumers progress and responding to program service needs while ensuring the safety and well‑being of the consumers. Direct Support Professionals are required to perform all duties in accordance with Minnesota statutes 245D Home & Community-Based Service Standards. Position Requirements Pass a background check and receive fingerprint clearance from the Department of Human Services. Is subject to flexible hours including split shifts or varied days and times including mornings, afternoon, evenings, weekends and overnights depending on coverage needs Regularly travels in the community Works in a variety of settings inside and outside the home and throughout the community Is subject to frequent interruptions and imposed deadlines Sits, stands, walks, bends, lifts and moves intermittently during working hours Is subject to frequent problem‑solving activities Has regular contact with consumers, staff, family members, and the general public May be subject to hostile and emotionally upset consumers, staff, family members and the general public; may be subject to physically aggressive consumers Attends and participates in a variety of educational programs designed to increase knowledge and expertise in the field May be exposed to infectious diseases, odors, dust, etc. throughout the day Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time and/or Part-Time About the Organization New Hope Living Inc. was established in 2001.
