Role Overview The critical care nurse provides direct, individualized care to acutely and critically ill patients in a high‑tech environment. They assess patient conditions, perform diagnostic tests, initiate treatments, and assist with medical procedures. The nurse monitors and adjusts specialized equipment, interprets electronic displays such as intracranial pressures, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator settings.
