Job Title Registered Nurse Program & Department Regular / Temporary Type Temporary Full / Part Time Full-Time Temporary End Date (Anticipated) 20 September 2027 Union ONA Requisition Close Date 04 September 2026 FTE 1.00 Salary Plan / Job Grade $41.15 - $58.98 ( ON_02 ) Job Posting Reason Temporary Backfill Job Summary & Requirements Royal Victoria Reginal Health Centre (RVH) serves the community of Simcoe County and provides highly specialized services including but not limited to: Stroke, Cardiac, Oncology, Neonatal Intensive Care, Adult & Youth Mental Health, and has been recently designated as a Level III Trauma Centre . We also serve our local community for emergency care services that sees approximately 90,000 unique patient visits per year. RVH is undergoing significant growth, including a capital plan that will see the current North Campus double in size over the next ten years, while developing the new South Campus in Innisfil. Professional Development & Education Funding As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will function interdependently and collaboratively with members of the multidisciplinary team, that includes but not limited to: Physicians, Registered Practical Nurses, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Geriatric Registered Nurses, Patient Care Assistants, and Phlebotomists. As the RN you assess the needs of adult and pediatric patients requiring care in the Emergency Department, while ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. You are a professional caregiver who is responsible and accountable for providing quality patient care within a delivery model in accordance with the philosophy, policies and standards of care of RVH, the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and all relevant legislation. As a qualified candidate you will need have the following job requirements: Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario and function within limitations and standards as established by the College of Nurses One (1) year experience in emergency or acute medical nursing required Coronary Care Level 1 required Demonstrated competency in Arrhythmia interpretation Current BCLS ACLS course required TNCC course preferred PALS or ENPC course preferred Completion of ENCC or Emergency nursing certificate is considered an asset Participation in RNAO/ ENAO/ ENA preferred Demonstrated commitment to the professional growth and development of self and other Demonstrated commitment to the concepts of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Service You will be an ideal Candidate for this position if you have: Ability to function independently within the scope of practice Sound problem solving, communication (oral and written), conflict resolution and critical decision-making skills Sound knowledge of nursing process and responsibilities of profession Ability to learn about, from and with other members of the patient care team to foster a strong Interprofessional model of care Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and emotional responsibilities of the position Demonstrated ability to be an effective listener with excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills Demonstrated ability in customer service with a commitment to patient–focused and family centered care Remains calm and functions using a team approach to cope with stress and crisis situations Uses the Emergency Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate Emergency patients Must be able to perform all essential duties of position description, which may include the ability to lift and move patients, pushing, pulling, bending and stooping Function within the Health and Safety guidelines providing safe and supportive environment for all patients, staff, physicians and volunteers Equity & Inclusion RVH is committed to recruitment and selection practices anchored in principles of equity and inclusion that contribute to an anti-oppressive, respectful, and culturally safe workplace.
