Direct Support Professional/Driver/AMAP (Part-time)

Overview Direct Support Professional/Driver / AMAP for Residential Group Home – Part-time position with Daybreak Independent Services, Inc. Location: 4244 Vireo, Bronx, NY 10470. Report to: Shift Supervisor/Asst Manager. FLSA: Non-exempt. Salary: $18 - $19 per hour. DBIS is a not-for-profit agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities in the Bronx and Queens. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) will implement Individual Service Plans, understand individual needs, advocate for residents, support residents to establish functional independence in ADLs, and document progress. Responsibilities Implement Individual Service Plans and document progress. Support residents to establish functional independence in specified skill areas. Maintain familiarity with individual needs and provide advocacy for residents. Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Qualifications Experience: 1-2 years in the Human or Health services field preferred but not required; prior experience in a residential group home is preferred. Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Additional Requirements: Excellent verbal and written skills; ability to communicate effectively; strong analytical ability and organizational skills; flexibility, poise, tact, and the ability to develop rapport with individuals of various backgrounds; Driver's License required. Hours and Schedule Available shifts: Thursdays 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm; OR Fridays 10:00 pm – 8:00 am and Saturdays 10:00 pm – 8:00 am.
