Accounting Specialist

We are a leading regional accounting services firm and we are looking to expand our Client Accounting Services team with an Accounting Specialist for a growth position in our Salina, Kansas office. Primary duties Prepare and process weekly or biweekly payrolls; Prepare required multi state tax filings and record activity in the general ledger; Reconcile bank to financial records; Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable. General duties Perform monthly financial closing process Ensure revenue/expenses are properly recorded Prepare operating budgets and forecasts Prepare reporting for accounts receivables and aging of accounts Review and process accounts payable transactions Ability to generate invoices and record receipts Prepare and manage sales & use tax returns for multiple states Qualifications A bachelor's degree and/or previous accounting coursework is preferred and will be considered a strong asset for success in this role Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or payroll preparation Strong analytical skills Skilled in accounting technology including spreadsheets Experience with accounting systems including QuickBooks Online Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent time-management and prioritization skills Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to interact with clients and peers Experience with the Microsoft suite of applications is required What We Offer Employee Ownership: Enjoy the benefits of being part of an employee-owned firm where your contributions matter.
