Counter Sales Associate – Hunt Valley, MD Job ID: R26_0000016873 Full time Responsibilities Provide automotive parts information and solutions to retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone. Assist other NAPA team members by responding to customer questions using parts knowledge. Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who enters the NAPA Store. Maintain a customer‑focused, high‑energy attitude in a fast‑paced retail environment. Use technology (computer), cash register, telephone, and paper catalog system to complete sales and support tasks. Qualifications Genuinely enjoys helping customers with auto parts and service questions. Has parts experience either through automotive industry work or personal tinkering and repair of cars & trucks. Willing to learn automotive parts knowledge if not already acquired. Desire to grow career within the organization. Requirements Valid driver’s license. Previous experience in a parts store, automotive industry, or willingness to learn all automotive parts. High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school courses or degree preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Love for fast‑paced retail environments. Strong listening skills and empathy for customers. Preferred Qualifications Background or passion for automotive, heavy equipment, farm, diesel, marine, or dealership industries. Experience in a parts store, auction, retail environment, or auto body/collision shop. Knowledge of cataloging or inventory management systems. Customer‑centric mindset (external and internal).
