Head of AI Data Sales

The Role You are Origin Lab’s first dedicated sales hire. Reporting to the CEO, you own the demand side: closing deals with the world’s most important AI companies. You sit across the table from heads of data, research leads, and procurement teams at frontier labs and world model startups, and you close deals that range from six to nine figures. The right person has spent a decade-plus selling data or infrastructure to AI labs, has deep, current relationships across the frontier labs and foundation model companies, and has the operator instincts to build the function from scratch. These are highly technical sales; you aren’t selling servers, you are explaining the research-validated value proposition of multimodal data coming from game engines’ physics telemetry and how that maps perfectly to AI researchers’ training needs for their new frontier world, spatial, physical, video and/or gaming model. If this doesn’t make sense to you, you are probably not right for this role. But if it does, this will be the most fun and rewarding opportunity of your career. What You Own Pipeline and Revenue. Identify, qualify, and close deals with AI labs, world model companies, and multimodal/video AI startups. Own the full cycle. Strategic Accounts. Build relationships with named accounts. Understand their data roadmaps and procurement processes. Position Origin Lab as the go-to source for high-signal multimodal data. Deal Structuring. Work with leadership on pricing. Help buyers understand the training value of different data tranches and translate product into commercial terms. Market Intelligence. Track what labs and researchers are prioritizing and where competitors are falling short. Feed it back so we build and price for the market as it moves. Required Experience 10+ years in enterprise sales or BD, with at least 5 years selling data products, AI infrastructure, or platform services to AI/ML teams. Deep, current relationships at frontier AI labs and foundation model companies: heads of data, research leads, procurement. You can open doors from day one. Real technical acumen with multimodal data: video, action and input telemetry, 3D environments, synchronized multi-view; scaling laws, pre-training vs. fine-tuning; and why aligned modalities carry a premium over raw footage. Experience selling to and partnering with researchers and model teams, and comfort explaining our data’s technical differentiation. Track record closing seven- and eight-figure deals with long cycles and multiple stakeholders. Nice to Have Experience at Scale AI, Surge AI, Mercor, or similar. Familiarity with world models, spatial AI, or video generation as training data categories. Professional experience or personal interest in video games or video companies.
