After generations of service and growth, we never lose focus of our three core values - Caring, Commitment, and Integrity.Summary: The IT Operations Engineer is responsible for the stability, security, and performance of the Credit Union's technology infrastructure. This role supports server management, server virtualization, backup management, storage management, network management, security, and endpoint maintenance, while partnering closely with the Help Desk, Application/Operations teams, and Business stakeholders. The position plays a critical role in maintaining availability, regulatory compliance, and strong security posture in the bank's operating environment.ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure & Server Operations:Maintain and support Microsoft Windows Server environment (2019, 2022, and 2025)Administer and support Hyper-V virtualization platformAdminister and support VMWare vSphere virtualization platformPerform server lifecycle management including patching, upgrades, and decommissioningSupport Windows 11 endpoint environments in coordination with IntuneBackup, Recovery & Storage:Administer and monitor Veeam Backup & ReplicationEnsure backup success, retention compliance, and regular recovery testingMaintain and monitor storage platforms, including capacity planning and performance optimizationSupport disaster recovery readiness and documentationSecurity Operations:Support internal security controls aligned with Credit Union regulatory standardsParticipate in vulnerability assessments and pen test remediationImplement hardening, patching, and configuration best practicesNetwork & Monitoring:Support network infrastructure including Cisco switches, and routersMonitor network, server, and application healthPerform troubleshooting and escalation for network performance, connectivity, and availability issuesSupport tuning across servers, storage, and network systemsApplication & Platform Support:Provide application infrastructure support for core and integrated systems including:AlkamiFiserv DNAManage EngineOnBaseSageworksMeridian LinkLaser ProZestCollaborate with application teams and vendors to resolve platform and performance issuesHelp Desk & Cross-Team Support:Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 escalation support to the Help DeskAssist with complex user, system, and application issuesDocument procedures, configurations, and operational standardsParticipate in after-hours support and on-call rotation as requiredRequired QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in engineering, or Software Development (Preferred)Experience:7+ years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, or infrastructure supportStrong experience with:Windows Server (2019, 2022, 2025)Windows 11 enterprise environmentsHyper-V virtualizationVeeam backup solutionsMicrosoft 365 administrationCisco networking and devicesVMWare vSphere / vCenterExperience supporting enterprise monitoring and performance tuningFamiliarity with financial institution security and compliance requirementsAbility to troubleshoot complex, multi-layered infrastructure issuesStrong documentation and communication skillsPreferred Qualifications / CertificationsMicrosoft 365 Administration Expert Certification (e.g., Microsoft 365 Administrator, Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent)Comp TIA Network + (or equivalent network certification such as CCNA)ITIL CertificationExperience working in a Credit Union or regulated financial environmentSecurity-related certifications (CEH, Security+, CISSP, or similar)Experience supporting core banking or fintech platformsOnBase workflow design, and constructionCMDB management processesKnowledge of AgileAbility to lift, rack and unrack servers / electronic storage devicesSkills, Knowledge and AbilitiesHigh Proficiency In:Attention to detail and operational disciplineStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple workloadsCollaborative mindset with a customer-service orientationCommitment to security, reliability, and continuous improvementWhat You Will EarnCompetitive payBenefits: several medical plan options, dental, free vision, free life and free disability insurance6% matching and immediately vested 401(K) planGenerous schedule for paid holidays, vacation and personal time for a healthy work-life balanceOpportunity for personal career growth, continued education and mentorship programsVolunteer opportunities impacting the local communityPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
