About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief of Police and Executive Director of Public Safety to lead its Department of Public Safety. The successful candidate will be a strategic administrator with a strong background in executive or senior command-level law enforcement, particularly within a sworn agency. This role is pivotal in ensuring a safe and innovative campus environment, where the integration of traditional policing with emergency medical services and comprehensive emergency management is essential. The Chief will be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of safety programs that not only protect the physical campus but also enhance the well-being of the surrounding community. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a Master’s degree, and at least 6 years of experience in a similar leadership role. The Chief will oversee a sophisticated safety ecosystem, including a commissioned police department, a student-run emergency medical services program, and an emergency management office. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship management skills, and a proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders. Responsibilities also include budget management, staff recruitment and training, and the development of safety initiatives that align with the company's mission and values. The Chief will be the public face of the Department of Public Safety, championing transparency and collaboration, and will serve as a vital link between the company and the broader community, including federal, state, and local law enforcement partners.
