Fleet Mechanic

SWTO, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary and private fuel delivery fleet of 7-Eleven & SEI Fuels.We compliment 7-Eleven’s existing carrier portfolio with a fleet of 200+ power units. Our 450+ drivers will deliver ~2 billion gallons of gas, diesel and ethanol, mainly to retail convenience stores and commercial fueling centers.Essential Functions of a Fleet Mechanic at SWTO: Provides mechanical and technical support for the Company transportation fleet; diagnoses, repairs and maintains Class 8 vehicles, petroleum tank trailers, medium duty specialty vehicles and light duty automotive vehicles; utilizes outside contractors to complete repairs as neededResponsibilities:Ensures accurate diagnosis and effective repair and/or replacement of components necessary for safe, proper function of assigned equipment, including, but not limited to, electrical, brakes, chassis, power train, suspension, engine and other specialty items such as PTO’s and petroleum tank truck itemsCompletes preventive maintenance and vehicle inspections in accordance with Company fleet practicesPerforms daily inspections of fleet vehicles; completes preventative maintenance and repairs any problems or defects identified during preventative maintenance inspectionsTests necessary equipment for defect diagnosis and ensures proper repairs have been completedResponds to calls when a driver breaks down; determines if an outside contractor is required and ensures that repairs are made efficiently and in a cost effective mannerReviews equipment repair history and documents similar repairs; identifies trends and provides tags/parts of repairs for warranty assistanceMaintains working knowledge of current technologies and equipment being utilized in the transportation fleet. Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins by attending training seminars and coursesMaintains a clean, safe work environment in compliance with Company guidelines and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standardsEnsures compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and Company guidelines by completing required trainings, as well as obtaining required certificationsPerforms work in accordance to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirementsPerforms repairs to building and facility as neededProvides timely communication of critical events that need to be considered and/or addressed by ManagementWorks on outside equipment, in a safe manner, regardless of weather conditions, as neededCompletes other duties, including special projects, as assigned by ManagementSkill Requirements:Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), EPA and OSHADemonstrated expertise with Word, Excel, and other MS Office suite applicationsAbility to conduct and complete Company business in a professional and ethical mannerAbility to lift equipment weighing in excess of 125 poundsAbility to operate hand and power tools and special equipment to complete work assignmentsGood understanding of intra-department functions and operationsAbility to perform repeated bending, standing and reachingOffering:Coverage in medical, dental, life, and vision insurances available401k PlanPaid PTO PlansUniform AllowanceFuel DiscountThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of the work being performed by the individuals assigned to this job.
