Patient Care & Billing Coordinator (Front Desk) | 4-Day Option with Full Benefits
Symmetry Physical Therapy & Wellness | Pelham, NY
Schedule: 4 or 5 days per week. A four-day schedule (32 hours/week) is welcome and remains fully benefits eligible.
Pay: is based on previous experience

We’re flexible on scheduling for this role. It can be a traditional five-day position or a four-day, 32-hour week, and both carry our full benefits package, including employer contributions toward health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) match, and paid time off. Pay is hourly, so it reflects the hours you work, but choosing four days doesn’t cost you your benefits. Symmetry Physical Therapy is a therapist-owned outpatient orthopedic practice that has served Westchester County for more than 20 years. We’re looking for an organized, people-first coordinator to be the first voice patients hear when they call and the person who keeps authorizations and billing moving behind the scenes. You’ll work closely with our therapists, our front desk team, and our outside billing company, and you’ll have a direct hand in how patients experience their care from the first phone call through discharge.

What you’ll do

Patient support and scheduling

• Greet patients, answer calls, and manage the schedule so visits are booked, confirmed, and ready to go
• Help patients understand their appointments, insurance coverage, copays, and balances 
• Collect copays and keep the front office running smoothly and professionally

Insurance and authorizations

• Submit and track insurance authorizations 
• Track down missing or incomplete information that holds up claims and or registration
• Keep patients and clinicians updated on authorization status and billing questions

Practice support

• Keep patient records accurate and organized in our EMR (TheraOffice)
• Coordinate between clinicians, billing, and patients so details don’t get lost
• Pitch in on the daily admin work that keeps a busy clinic on schedule

What we’re looking for

• 1+ years in a healthcare front office, billing, or patient coordination role (physical therapy experience is a strong plus)
• Comfort talking with patients about insurance, copays, and balances, clearly and kindly
• Experience with insurance authorizations; familiarity with portals like eviCore, ASH, or Optum is a bonus
• TheraOffice or similar EMR experience is helpful but not required, and we’ll train the right person
• Highly organized and dependable, able to juggle phones, patients, and paperwork without losing track of details
• Warm, professional, and comfortable working independently once you’re up to speed
• Timely and professional attitude
