CNC Programmer-Operator, Precision Mills & Lathes

What your day looks likeStep onto the floor for your chosen schedule—First Shift (Mon–Fri, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM) or Second Shift (Mon–Thu, 2:30 PM–1:00 AM)—and take a job from blueprint to finished part. You’ll review work orders and prints, choose the sequence of operations, and move seamlessly from setup to programming to first-article verification.Core work you will ownTranslate blueprints, work orders, engineering drawings, and planning into toolpaths and operations.Program mills and lathes: establish zero and reference points; set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculate dimensions using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; prove out programs before release.Set up equipment by installing/adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicate vises and tram heads.Load the feed mechanism and position raw material safely and efficiently.Machine to spec by drilling, grooving, turning, and facing; take measurements; detect malfunctions; troubleshoot processes; adjust or reprogram controls; sharpen/replace tooling; and ensure quality at each step.Perform first article inspections and detailed part checks using micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges.Complete preventive maintenance per manufacturer guidance; troubleshoot issues and coordinate repairs as needed.Document production activity and quality results accurately in logs.Standards we live byAttendance & Reliability: Arrive prepared and on time, follow the assigned schedule, remain engaged throughout the shift, and minimize unscheduled absences.Quality First: Deliver parts that meet customer requirements the first time.Safety Always: Wear required PPE and comply with all safety policies, procedures, and rules.Accountability: Own the volume and quality of your output and continuously pursue excellence.Team members follow documented procedures, work instructions, and operating processes. Every team member is responsible for containing and promptly alerting management to any nonconforming product.This overview covers the primary responsibilities; other related tasks may be assigned as needed.What you bring2+ years in a machine shop, with hands‑on experience in machining/manufacturing environments.Clear verbal and written communication with coworkers.Ability to juggle multiple priorities and see projects through with minimal supervision.Knowledge of metal fabrication, machining practices, and tooling.Exceptional attention to detail; able to work quickly and accurately within tight timelines.Strong planning, scheduling, coordination, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.Work environment & physical demandsManufacturing setting with regular exposure to loud noise, fumes/airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
