CNC Operator

The CNC Operator produces machined parts by setting up and operating a CNC machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis description represents the most significant job duties but does not exclude other work duties assigned or required but not mentioned.Plan machining operations by reviewing work orders, blue prints, engineering plans and drawings.Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference. points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving parts programs.Set up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools,, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into positionMaintain specifications by observing, drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning and facing operations, take measurements, detect malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting and reprogramming controls, sharpening and replacing work tools and quality assurance.Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs.Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work and perform detailed inspection of parts produced.ATTENDANCE: Good attendance includes reporting to work on time, sticking to work schedules, being prepared to start work on time, remaining on the job during the workday to complete assigned duties and limited use of unscheduled leave.QUALITY: Every employee has the responsibility “to do it right the first time” in order to provide the customer a product that meets their requirementsSAFETY: All employees will wear required safety equipment and comply with company safety rules, procedures and policies at all timesACCOUNTIBILITY: Every employee will accept responsibility for the quantity and quality of their work and strive towards excellence.This job description is subject to change with or without notice.Job RequirementsEmployees are required to follow procedures, work instructions and operational processes.The potential consequences for non-compliance may result in an increased rejection rate at the Customer, increased internal scrap rate, delayed or late shipments, personal injury, and a negative impact on the environment.All employees have the responsibility to contain and immediately notify management of any nonconforming product.This position requires no supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications and Experience2+ years’ experience in machine shopAbility to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to coworkersAbility to manage several projects at one time.Able to work independently on a project through its completion with minimum supervision.Knowledge of metal fabrication processes, machining and tooling background and previous manufacturing background/environment.Impeccable attention to detail and ability to work within short time lines with speed and accuracy.Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem solve effectivelyStrong analytical mindset.Working Conditions / EnvironmentThis job operates in a manufacturing environment.While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to loud noise, fumes and airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration;May work with or around chemicals that create a hazardous exposure which is defined on the accessible Safety Data Sheets;Employee is exposed to moderate temperature changes over an eight-hour shift.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.Physical and Mental RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offReferral programTuition reimbursementVision insuranceAbility to Commute: Richmond, IN 47374 (Required) #J-18808-Ljbffr
